The Now You See It, Now You Don’t (NYSI, NYD) is a large annual mural show held at the Flat Iron Arts Building. The interior walls of the building, 2nd and 3rd floors are covered by interlocking murals that are approximately 6′ high and 8′ feet long. The show lasts for a month and then the artists cover their murals in white paint. Hence, Now You See it, Now You Don’t.
The artists come from all over the Chicago area and range in age from 7 years old to 80. The best quote about the show came from a 7-year-old first grader: “This is the best museum that I have ever been to”. The gallery, below, are samples of the murals and the artists working.
